What we do
Jarvis Commercial is a new name within the commercial and mixed-use real estate sector. The company is focused on finding sites across the North West that, once rejuvenated, will add real value and provide a variety of assets to the surrounding community.
The sites are being hand-picked for their potential, while the building techniques used will be innovative, efficient and progressive in order to ensure that the resultant development is able to stand the test of time.
Building on more than 75 years’ worth of experience from two seasoned North West property professionals, Jarvis Commercial has all the ingredients for success. Nicholas Ratcliffe and Paul Burgess have created a team that combines enthusiastic youth with experienced professionals and are determined to create sustainable development projects which use the highest standards of design, specification and end-user satisfaction. The business is supported by an established funding model that has the capability to deliver schemes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Jarvis Commercial is part of The Ratcliffe Property Group which was established in 2020 by Nicholas Harvey Ratcliffe, Thomas Harvey Ratcliffe and Charles Jarvis Ratcliffe under the guidance of Paul Burgess.
Also within the Ratcliffe Property Group of companies is Harvey Homes and RPG Strategic Land, with all the entities working in collaboration.
Going forward, the Ratcliffe Property Group will self-build in order to safeguard the quality of their projects. RPG Contracts will work with Harvey Homes, while RPG Construction will work alongside Jarvis Commercial.
RPG Strategic Land is responsible for managing the acquisition and planning processes to feed the urban and rural development pipelines for both Jarvis Commercial and Harvey Homes.

Our history
Jarvis Commercial is named after Nicholas’ youngest son, Charles Jarvis Ratcliffe, while Harvey Homes is named after his eldest, Thomas Harvey Ratcliffe. Charlie and Tom have both been deeply involved in the conception of the two property arms of the Group and have the passion and aptitude to ensure that the next generation will make them successful.
This family business is dedicated to the property industry and sees true value in the longevity of bricks and mortar. Business runs in the family’s blood, with Nicholas’ Great Grandfather William Harvey, originally employed in agriculture, borrowed £400 from Barclay’s bank and commissioned a wooden hull fishing trawler in 1907. This is where the family first made money and enabled William bought a mortgage-free home for each of his 11 children. Like their late Great and Great Great Grandfathers, the Ratcliffe family know the true value of land and property.
Our future
By bringing together the commercial expertise of Jarvis Commercial and the residential prowess of Harvey Homes, the Ratcliffe Property Group (RPG) is developing valuable and innovative mixed-use schemes across the North West region which will be rolled at nationally. Consequently, the Group is currently looking at a number of high-profile regeneration schemes initially within Greater Manchester and the North West.
There are exciting plans afoot for Jarvis Commercial, with many potential sites being considered and the creation of many innovative mixed-use schemes being envisaged.
